Kasargod, May 25:
 Normal life was disrupted owing to the statewide protest staged by the BJP, Left wing, and SDPI to condemn the hike in price of petrol on Thursday May 24.

BJP, Left wing and SDPI joined to give a protest call as soon as the union government announced the hike in price of petrol with effect from midnight on Wednesday May 23.

Public transport was fully stalled owing to the statewide protests on Thursday.
 
The shops were closed and normal life went out of gear and unwary passengers who arrived in the city were affected by the statewide protest.
