Press Enclave Road gets its name Back

New Delhi, May 29 (IANS): The road leading to Press Enclave in south Delhi has got its original name -- Press Enclave Road -- back, thanks to Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's intervention.

Journalists in Saket area had petitioned Dikshit May 23 after the road was mysteriously renamed as Pandit Trilok Chand Sharma Road.

On Tuesday, Saket residents discovered that the new signboard had been wiped clean and the original name restored.

"I am thankful to the chief minister for so promptly acting on our memorandum," said Som Sapru, president of the Press Association Cooperative Group Housing Society.

A memorandum presented to Dikshit had said: "It is beyond our imagination that you go on changing age-old and accepted names of roads."

Press Enclave was the first cooperative group housing society launched in Delhi. The complex in Saket is respected for its architectural design.
