Mumbai, May 31: Churchgate Centre won the Bipin Football Academy Tournament 2012 by defeating Kandivili Centre 5-4 in a tie-breaker in an evenly contested final at the MSSA ground on Sunday May 27. Firoz Shah, who converted the first penalty kick for Churchgate, was named ‘Player of the Tournament’. Both teams were locked goal less at full time.
In the tie-breaker, Firoz, Dhawal Thakur, Omprakash Jaiswal, K Dias, and Neville D’Cunha were on target for the champions. The runner-up team converted four kicks through Narendra Shetty, Akshay Poojary, Nihar Jadhav, and Swapnil Rane. Former India and Mahindra midfielder Santosh Kashyap, coach of Air India in I-League 2011-12, was the chief guest who distributed the trophies.

Girls Tournament: Borivili Centre bt Churchgate Slum Centre 2-1. Best Players: Shriya Yadav (Churchgate) and Kimberly D’Souza (Borivili).
