Udupi, Jun 2: Depressed over his exam results, Jeevan Shetty, a 14-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide here on Friday June 1 evening.
The reason behind his death was due to misunderstanding of results. He thought that he passed from class eight to class nine, but when the new academic year began he came to know that he failed. Ashamed of himself and shocked by the result he hung himself to a tree near Kuthigebettu bridge.
Jeevan is one of the three children of late Prabhakar Shetty belonging to Matti Bailu, Kuthige in Bamarbettu Village. He was a student of Heriyadka Government Junior College, high school section.
His uncle Sudhakar Shetty registered a complaint at Heriyadka police station.
