Illegal Power Connection at Shahbaz Sharif's Office

Islamabad, Jun 4 (IANS): An illegal electricity connection has been detected at Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif's office, a media report said.

The illegal power connection, colloquially called `kunda', was found at Sharif's camp office at Minar-e-Pakistan here Sunday by Geo News.

No meter or sub-meter was found installed, the media report said.

A Punjab government spokesman said the electricity connection has been taken provisionally and the bill would be paid.

As many as 10 water coolers, over 30 fans besides elaborate lighting arrangements were being operated through the illegal connection.

To express solidarity with the people of Punjab over frequent power outages, Shahbaz Sharif had set up his camp office in Iqbal Park where he and other ministers discharge business and review the water and electricity situation.
