Udupi: Congress Sure to Win MLC Election - MP Jayaprakash Hegde

Udupi, Jun 7: Congress MP K Jayaprakash Hegde on Wednesday June 6 said that he was confident of the party's victory in the upcoming MLC election.

Addressing a press meet, he said that Congress is sure to win in both southwest graduates and teachers constituencies.
 
Hegde said the party had announced its candidates for MLC election eight months in advance which provided them enough time to reach out to the voters. He expressed his complete belief in the Congress candidate for the South West Graduates Constituency S P Dinesh. He said that he is the perfect member for this election. He started campaigning six to seven month in advance.

When asked for his opinion regarding BJPs campaign using their existing political power (BEOs are used as mediator for campaigning between teachers), he said for 24 years they have done no forceful campaigns which have any meaning.

“BJP has done nothing for the teachers, graduates and the unemployed. Public see the work, they have done no campaigns”, he added.

In a setback to the ruling BJP in Karnataka, the Congress  extracted the Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha seat with K Jayaprakash Hegde emerging victorious in the bypoll by a margin of 45,724 votes. After the election for the first time he called for the press meet. On that he said it is a new experience for him in Lok sabha and he is lucky to get budget sections.
 
He is working on many major issues like fisheries related problems and break water issue. State government is spending on the ongoing break water solution, now the center is supposed to provide the ransom of 84 cr.

    With due respect to JP Hegde being a congressman it is his duty to vote in favor of congress but he should remember in last by-election many traditional BJP and Anti congress voters casted vote in favour of JP Hegde only looking at his personality, honesty etc.

    About Mr SP Dinesh hmmmm we can write pages together he is one of the very opportunistic media savy person.. He did not even hesitate to put Indian Red Cross Society in his campaigning hand bills... People started thinking apolitical biggest humanitarian based organisation Rec Cross becomes congress wing!!!! He is lier also Mr Dinesh claims he is a Karnataka representative in IRCS New Delhi. The fact is he is nominated for the same from Karnataka he lost the election..OMG if starts starts writing his great achievemen it goes pages and pages!!!!!

    Sir JPH would you ask us elect very mentality cheap media savy person to intellectuals house!!! If he wins it is a shame on graduates !!!! Sir we will not hesitate to caste vote for congress but please bargain with better candiate definitely not candidate like SP Dinesh..We need candiates like JPH and should become change agent!!

    Both Mr Boje Gowda and Mr Shankaramurthy are far far far hundred times better than this SP Dinesh....

    Instead of simply taking advantage or pointing towards "current state governament’s failure"... better you do something to us so that everything should falls on your way!! Its almost 3 months now... Your priority promises like Kundapura Railway Station issue, modern over bridge at Shastri circle etc still pending. State Govt. nothing to do with many issues… Simply attending public ceremony doing some media-stunts are not the criteria to win elections. Buck-up man… you can do many things with UPA govt.
