Udupi, Jun 14: Srijith, a cameraman with TV9 Kannada news channel, was assaulted by three unidentified miscreants here on Wednesday June 13 night at around 10.40 pm.
A resident of Diana Villa, Parampalli, Ambagilu here, Srijith (28) was returning after attending a friend's house warming ceremony, when three unidentified masked men came on a bike and intersected him near Kunjibettu Sharada Kalyana Mantapa.
The miscreants threw chilli powder on Srijith's face and when he lost balance and fell from his bike, they allegedly beat him up with sticks and hit his head with a sharp weapon before fleeing.
An injured Srijith was admitted to Ajjarkad government hospital.
Srijith in his statement said that he does not know who attacked him, but it may be someone who wanted to kill him as revenge over some issue.
Udupi police have registered a case.
