Udupi: ‘Sneha Samvada’, Humanity Forum Inaugurated

Udupi, Jun 18:  ‘Sneha Samvada’, a forum for humanity was inaugurated at Ammanni Ramanna Shetty Auditorium here on Sunday, June 17. The inauguration was followed by a detailed – questionnaire and exchange of views.

Rotary Club governor H L Ravi inaugurating the programme said, “Religions should be like flowing water, not still. Society must understand the benefit of water by all means.”

Abdul Haji (forum president Parkala) presided over the programme. Jayakar Shetty (Lion governor Indrali), Sadananda Navada (Jaycees zonal president) N K M Shaafi Saadi (member Karnataka Waqf Board) were the chief guests.

Following issues were discussed as a part of the programme - Islam Dharma and belief; We are not born with any religion; Our community should understand the value of human not the region; With the help of knowledge and refinement we know the religion.

Abdulsalam Puttige, editor-in-chief of Vartabharati answered questions on Islam community, culture and the various rituals followed.

“India is a nation with unity and diversity. If we can spare our thoughts for others just as for ourselves, then we will be true followers of faith” he said.

“A flower blooming for itself is not a flower. A light burning for itself is no light. Similarly all of us have a duty to pay back to the nature. We need to learn others' religion while loving our own religion”, he added.

Thought provoking subjects, discussions over questions raised were held as a part of the programme.

Mohammed Ali was also present during the programme.
