Bangalore: BJP Rebels Set Three-day Deadline to Sadananda Gowda

Bangalore, Jun 19 (PTI): Breaking the lull, the B S Yeddyurappa camp in ruling BJP in Karnataka today set a three-day deadline to Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda to convene the legislature party meeting, throwing up a fresh challenge to his leadership.

At a meeting here, the dissidents decided to ask Gowda to summon the Legislature party meet within three days, their persistent demand which the Chief Minister has been dodging.

Briefing reporters, Public Works Minister C M Udasi, a loyalist of state BJP strongman Yeddyurappa, claimed 40 MLAs, seven MLCs and three MPs attended the breakfast meeting at his residence.

Udasi said Yeddyurappa and Rural Development Minister Jagadish Shettar, whom the rebels have projected as a successor to Gowda, would soon leave for Delhi to hold talks with central leaders. He said the Yeddyurappa camp enjoyed support of 75 MLAs out of 120 in the 224-member assembly. The MLAs want to discuss development issues in their constituencies and also problems faced by them, Udasi said.

Sources in the rebel camp say it has been decided to take the "oust Gowda" campaign this time to a logical end. When asked what would be the group's future course of action, if the chief minister did not comply with their deadline, Udasi remarked, "Let us wait for three days".

Yeddyurappa, who is sulking after repeated failures to get the chiefministership back with central leadership rebuffing him, has been pushing for Shettar, also a Lingayat like him, for the chief minister's post.

Gowda, who cancelled his Bijapur tour today, is camping in the city in view of the developments.

It is very astonishing to note that why BJP rebellion group headed by former chief minister Sriman Yedyurappa is insisting for the change in state leadership? What is the logic behind it?.What is hidden in Mr.Shettar? What is lacking in DVS.BJP is not belonging to any particular group, caste or religion that is belongs to each and every person regardless of their caste, religion, language or colour. When the things are moving smoothly why this trouble shooters creting problem/chaos within the party?DVS is chief minister for all the karnataka people not limited to 75 MLAs.Stop grumbling and work for the unity of the party rather than indulging in creating problems every now and then.Don't tarnish the image of the party which is already in bad taste because of your internal fighting. No doubt Mr.DVS is doing fantastic job and he is very clean and able administrator as compared to Mr.Yedyurappa, who is selfish, cunning and traitor.None of the people in karnataka believe/trust him.He is lier.No way he will comeback to the power.Dear rebellion group leaders if you want to remain in the ministry keep quiet and work diligently for the betterment of the karnataka people.Don't spend party's money unnecessarily by dashing to Delhi every now and then.

When Mr. DVS is discharging his duties without any obstacles, why these crooks attempt to ouster him ? This proves their evil designs & they work for their own benefit and not for common men.

We, who voted BJP to power, would like know the pertinent reasons for change in leadership and what agenda J. Shettar has in place to reform the state. If you want him to be a further MMM (Money Making Machine) only, write off your deposit right away for next election for all the 75/120 traitor MLAs.
