Kasargod, Jun 19: BJP corporators and activists staged a unique protest in front of the town council on Monday June 18 urging the authorities to solve the drinking water woes.
In a unique protest, the BJP corporators staged a protest in the town council office while the activists picketed outside the entrance of the town council.
The town council opposition leader P Ramesh staged a protest in front of the office of town councilor T A Abdulla while the activists staged protest outside the entrance of town council with empty vessels.
BJP alleged that despite moderate rains arriving across the state, the drinking water supply has been hampered in the city and its suburbs since the past 15 days.
BJP corporators Chandrashekar, Anita R Nayak, Kalavati, Sarita, Rooparani, Ashwini, Leelamani, Srilata, Nirmala, and Jyoti participated in the protest staged inside the town council office.
K P Jayaram, K Ravindran, K A Venugopal, Ganapati Kotekani, P Bhaskaran, and Satish Kadappura led the protest at the entrance of the town council.
The drinking water supply has been hampered in the city since June 7, due to major pumps at the reservoir developing problems.
