Bengali actress Subhashree to Play a superstar


Kolkata, June 20 (IBNS): Bengali actress Subhashree is all set to play the role of a superstar in her upcoming movie ‘Megh Roddur’.
 
Subhashree while filming a song sequence for the film said: “I am very excited to have bagged such a powerful character which gives me ample opportunity to showcase my aptitude as an actor.”
 
“I am playing a character of a superstar named Madhuja Sen, who comes to shoot in the hills and falls for a simple local boy Arpan and how love changes all the equations of life.”
 
Regarding her next project, the actress said that she will be seen in the sequel of her last release ‘Khokababu’.
 
Director Surajit Dhar, who has earlier done ‘Pa Ma Ga Re Sa’ featuring Rohit Roy, said that it is his second feature film.
 
Speaking about the film he said: “Megh Roddur’ is a love story of opposite attraction set in the valleys of Shillong.”
 
“The story is about the life of a superstar, who on the outset may appear satisfied, but actually is a loner who finds solace in the arms of a man possessing a complete contradictory approach to life.”
 
Theatre actor Palaash Ganguly will be playing the male lead.
 
After doing four films with actor Dev, Subhashree said: “I have been doing films with Dev for quite a long time. After doing four back-to-back movies with him, working with Palaash is altogether a different experience.”
 
Praising the new talent, the actress said: “Palaash is very much dedicated to his work. I hope that someday he will become a big name in the industry.”
 
Debutant actor Palaash said: “The moment I heard that I have been cast in the lead role opposite Subhashree, I was elated.”
 
The cast also includes Rajesh Sharma, Debolina Dutta, Anindya Banerjee and Biswanath Basu.
