Udupi: Murder Attempt on Rowdy Pitti Nagesh - One Arrested

Udupi, Jun 20: Raghavendra Kanchan (27), accused of making an attempt on rowdy Pitti Nagesh's life, was arrested with a revolver near a wine shop at Udyavar Balaipade on Monday June 18.

Raghavendra was arrested while trying to sell off a revolver he had bought a year ago from an unknown person. The Udupi DCIB police swooped down on him and seized the revolver.

It is said that Raghavendra joined hands with his friends Gururaj Poojary, Kiran Sherigar and Vishwanath Shetty and attempted to kill Pitti Nagesh near Indrali raiway station and his friend Anwar. The attempt was an act of revenge for the murder of rowdy Vinod Shettigar.

Three persons were arrested after the incident, but Raghavendra had managed to escape from the police.

The case is registered in Udupi town police, and the investigation is being led under the direction of SP Borelingaiah.
