Gale, Jun 23: Sri Lanka take the honours on day 1 of the first Test. Dilshan started the day by playing some attacking strokes and raced away to his fifty. Though he slowed down in the second session, Sangakkara kept up the momentum and kept the scoreboard moving as Dilshan worked his way to a hundred. That was when Sri Lanka appeared to stutter a bit, but it was not to be Pakistan's day as a couple of decisions did not go their way. Sangakkara stroked his way to a hundred and Mahela lived on the edge as he brought up his fifty. Pakistan will need something special from their bowlers

Yesterday was a day of dominance by the hosts. Tillakaratne Dilshan scored his 13th Test century while Kumar Sangakkara equalled Sir Don Bradman's record of 29 Test tons. The Pakistan bowlers toiled hard on a lifeless pitch and Umar Gul was unlucky not to get any wickets for his efforts. Will Pakistan fightback or will Sri Lanka set up a massive first innings score? Misbah: It's difficult to miss a game after playing with the team for so long. You just have to think about every game you're playing and give your best. You have to try and win every game, that's the only thing that matters. Stats don't matter to me, what matters is trying to win every game for Pakistan. Bowling was good but after a long time we're playing Test cricket, so it was slightly difficult to change to Test mode. The ball was really turning for both the spinners and it was seaming around as well, but the bowlers couldn't take wickets. Credit to the batsmen though. I am a firm supporter of DRS. It helps the umpires and the teams also get maximum out of the game. Mistakes from the umpires can be removed if we use the DRS.
