Daijiworld Media Network

Japan, Jun 23: The victory march of Indian women's kabaddi team continues with Karkala girl Mamata Poojary-led team beating Thailand by a huge margin of 54 - 25 to win yet another gold medal, this time at the Asian Beach Games held in Japan.

Unbeaten in the entire tournament, the Indian women entered the finals as the favourite to win the gold. Inthe league matches, India beat Thailand in the first round by 48-40, then Bangladesh by 50-28 and later Sri lanka by 57-31 to top the points table.

Speaking to daijiworld from Japan, captain Mamata Poojary said "We were a little nervous initially, as our men's team had lost the race for gold in the semi-finals. But our coach inspired us and boosted our confidence. We never thought we would remain unbeaten throughout the tourney. We feel extremely happy, and all credit goes to the girls and the coach."

In the men's kabaddi, India lost to Pakistan in the semis. Iran then beat Pakistan to clinch the gold in the finals.

Congratulations.....Birduda Biruvedi Mamatha poojary & team good work, well done.We are all proud of you, but at the same time not happy with the Indian Govt. There is no proper support or prizes for the winning Kabaddi team or any other sports and Games as compared to CRICKET.Lets support all Games like Kabaddi & Hockey also. Good luck & Cheers!

Namaskaram - Let mamta settle down at the time of fame and fortune. She can continue her sport after marriage also.

Even now-a-days sania mirza n shoaib akhtar are guiding each other in cricket n tennis vice-versa.

Why so many disagree in my comment.

It's everybody's wish let mamta settle down in life as she already achieved fame and fortune at young age. Like Sania Mirza if she wants to continue her favourite sport can do even after marriage.

Shoaib n Sania are still busy with there respective games Cricket n Tennis and enjoy the most.

Now-a-days many of the comments passed by individuals on most of the news are not on the news published but for personal vendetta, very unfortunate indeed!

We should be congratulating Mamata and the team members for winning a gold at the Asian Beach Games.

Anyway it is an open forum and we are living in a democratic country and every person (whether civilized or not) has a right to express his/her views.

Congratulations to Ms. Mamata and the team members for winning a Gold for India at the Asian Beach Games.

GROW UP MAN.DON'T TALK LIKE NONSENSE. ITS NOT A JOKE. THIS IS THE FACT. JUST GO AND ASK EACH ATHLETS, HOW MUCH SUPPORT AND HELP THEY ARE GETTING FROM OUR STATE GOVT. THAT'S REASON NOW THEY ARE IN TOP OF WORLD.

SUPPOSE IF OUR STATE GOVT ACT LIKE A CENTRAL TEAM. THEN THEY COULD HAVE BEEN IN THEIR HOME NOW.
