Sharjah Bans Satellite Dishes on Buildings

Sharjah, Jun 24 (Emirates 24x7) : Residents of Sharjah will have to pull down satellite dishes and subscribe to cable connections henceforth.

According to a report in 'Al Khaleej', Sharjah Municipality has started a campaign to remove satellite dishes installed on balconies, windows and rooftops of buildings.

Sultan Abdullah Al Mualla, Director, Sharjah Municipality, said the decision was taken to maintain aesthetic beauty of the emirate. Satellite dishes on buildings are not pleasing to the eye.

All residents are required to take cable connections, he added.

The municipality is distributing circulars to educate and raise awareness among residents. Those who do not comply with the rule will be fined, he added.
