Udupi Jun 26: The Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation, has urged people to obtain the facilities given to them by the government.

In a Christian community, if the annual income of a person is less than Rs 1.5 lac, and a person takes a housing loan from the bank between Rs 1 lac to  Rs 5 lac, the interest of the loan amount from 2007 till date will be paid by Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation or one lac will be given to them on basis of ‘Mane Katida Bhaddi sahaya Yojane’.

The housing loan facilities is made available for 60 people but at present only 6 applications have been received. Karkala district is where very less applicants have registered for all fields.

‘You should know your facility and make perfect use of it’ ,said N.B. Aboobakkar, DCE, AMIE (Civil), Chairman of Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation.

He said the government is keen to implement various beneficiary projects for the minorities. In the past 4 years, Rs 425 Lac was spend for 2519 minority beneficiaries. Previously it was just 800 beneficiaries and Rs 114 Lac was the amount used for this division.

But in Udupi, Education and Swavalambhana are the 2 fields where rarely any applications are seen.

On the basis of the population, beneficiaries and amount will be decided.
