Udupi, Jun 27: Apparently, politicians are not the only ones entering jail these days.

A python got into Hiriadka jail here on Tuesday June 27.

The silent atmosphere of the jail got disrupted early morning at 7.30 when the prisoners spotted the python making its way into the jail.

The snake is said to have come chasing its meal, a mouse.

Having learnt of the situation, the jail warden informed Gururaj Sanil, a herpetologist, along with Prakash Poojary, the district forest officer who managed to catch the snake.

It was later set free at the Someshwar Forest area around 11 am.
