London, June 29 (IBNS): India's Leander Peas and his doubles partner Radek Stepanek of Czech Republic moved to the second round of Wimbledon by defeating Australian side of Colin Ebelthite and John Peers here on Thursday.
The Indo- Czech pair moved to the second round by defeating their partners by 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 margin.
The pair will next face the pair of Israel's Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram.
Spectators witnessed a shock on Thursday as Spanish Tennis icon Rafael Nadal was defeated Lukas Rosol of Czech Republic.
The former Wimbledon champion was defeated by his opponent by 6-7 (9/11), 6-4, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 margin in the second round clash.
Earlier, Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna cruised to the second round of the men's doubles event of Wimbledon y defeating Uruguay's Marcel Felder and Tunisia's Malek Jaziri on Wednesday.
