Vidya Balan's Choreographer Roopal Turns Actor

Mumbai, Jul 2 (IBNS): Once a choreographer to actor Vidya Balan, Rupal Tyagi is now playing the lead in Zee TV's new show Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke.

It was not very long ago that  Rupal, who plays Gunjan in the serial, choreographed Vidya on Mere Dolna ( from the film Bhool Bhuaiya) and it was like walking down memory lane for Rupal as she danced to the very same song on the tele-show in which she plays the lead female protagonist.

Rupal said, “After finishing the shoot for the song sequence in Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, it felt like I had completed a full circle."

"I have fond memories of choreographing Vidya for the same song. She is a quick learner, a delight to watch on screen and has no airs of being a superstar," said Rupal, who was an assistant choreographer for that song.

"Dance will always be my first love and as an actress, I am sure I will get loads of opportunities to also showcase my dancing skills.”

Rupal wanted to become a professional dancer and trained at Shiamak Davar’s dance institute Bangalore, her hometown. Then she got an opportunity to assist Pony Verma, a Bollywood celebrity choreographer who has made actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor dance to her tunes.

For two years, Rupal shuttled between Bangalore and Mumbai before she finally settled in Mumbai.

She got her first break in a fiction show with Zee TV – Hamari Betiyon Ka Vivaah and also acted in Choti Si Zindagi which prompted her to choose acting as a career.
