Mumbai, Jul 2 (IANS): Actor Suniel Shetty, who plays a film director in his next release "Mere Dost Picture Abhi Baki Hai", says he has no plans to go behind the camera in real life, especially after his unsuccessful stint as a producer.
"I didn't become a good, successful producer... and a director, I don't think so," the 50-year-old actor said here.
"I am doing a lot of things. Direction is a very focused job. He (a director) is not just concerned with the film, but has to handle the actors and even production, background effect," Suniel said.
"I think it's too complex for me. I enjoy acting and I have signed a lot of films. So I want to continues enjoy acting," added Suniel, who has produced films like "Khel-No Ordinary Game", "Rakht" and "Bhagam Bhag".
Directed by Rajnish Raj Thakur, "Mere Dost Picture Abhi Baki Hai" also features Om Puri, Rajpal Yadav and Udita Goswami. It hits theatres July 20.
Meanwhile, Suniel says he would love to do an action film - a genre he is glad is back in vogue.
"Action has given me image, so I would want to do action. The trend had dipped, but now action is back with a bang," said Suniel, who kicked and punched in films like "Waqt Hamara Hai", "Suraksha" and "Mohra".
Currently he has other films lined up too.
"Two of my films are almost ready - 'Enemmy' is ready, 'Shooter' is ready. There is action in the films but it is linked with the story. They are police films and about their issues," he added.
Suniel has also been signed on for "Hera Pheri 4."
