Udupi: Thieves Make Vain Attempt to Break Open ATM at Kunjibettu

Udupi, Jul 3: An attempt was made on Saturday June 30 night to break into Kunjibettu SBI ATM and decamp with cash.

It is said that on Saturday night, the ATM lost communication with the bank after 7.30 pm. On Monday, it came to light that the thieves had used iron rods to break open the machine, but in vain.

The SBI officials, on learning that the ATM was out of order, arrived at the ATM with policemen and using a password, removed all the cash, amounting to Rs 19.31 lac from the machine for safekeeping.

The police are on the lookout for the thieves.
