Bangalore: Aida D'Cunha Elected Chairperson of FKCA

Bangalore, Jul 3: Aida D'Cunha was unanimously elected chairperson of the Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations (FKCA) for the period 2012–2013 during its 15th annual general meeting held at Konkan Bhavan, Bangalore. general secretary Robert Cutinha and treasurer Ronald Cutinha were also unanimously elected for the forthcoming term.
 
The minutes of the last AGM and the accounts for the previous financial year were presented by the general secretary and treasurer respectively and the same were passed by all the members present.

Returning officer Fr William Miranda took charge and conducted the election.

Valerian Fernandes briefed the members of the efforts taken by the FKCA in presenting and fighting for the causes of the minority with the present government and the work carried out by the Federation for the last one year. During this occasion he informed that FKCA got the exemption under 80 G and 12 A of the Income Tax Act and showed the exemption order.
 
Charles Gomes, former chairman spoke on the occasion and lauded the work done by the FKCA till date. Presidents of all member associations spoke for two minutes each, highlighting the activities of their individual associations while appreciating the excellent work done by the FKCA and extending full support to it.
 
Robert Cutinha updated the members of the various activities undertaken during the previous year which included, the free eye check up camp which lead to donation of sight rectification spectacles and free eye surgeries, low budget housing for the poor, annual sports, free placement and matrimonial cells through its website www.fkca.net, etc. The FKCA has 28 members associations from Bangalore, Mysore and around the world.
 
During this occasion FKCA honoured Viyolla Pinto for securing 5 gold medals in MSC and Nanjunada, FKCA auditor for his continuous and dedicated service to the Federation for the last few years.
