Mangalore: Jaago Assn Condemns Sadananda Gowda's Ouster, Seeks Public Support

Media Release

Mangalore, Jul 7: In the wake of the BJP's decision to replace D V Sadananda Gowda with Jagadish Shettar as chief minister of Karnataka, Jaago Mangalore Association has issued a media release condemning the decision and urging public support for Sadananda Gowda.

The release states:

"Jaago Association Mangalore is anguished to note that in the last few days, a concerted campaign is being carried out to overthrow our chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda and to destabilize his honest government. Being conscientious citizens of the country, we strongly condemn this malafide and anti-democratic movement against the incumbent government of D V Sadananda Gowda, who has an unblemished track record, and we call upon the people of the state, especially his home district Dakshina Kannada, to openly come out in support of him for the good of the state.

Our chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda is among the best chief ministers Karnataka has ever seen. His smiling face and childlike sincerity have brought stability to the state and restored confidence to the people after he was appointed 11 months ago.

Before he assumed office, the state was in a big mess and there were lot of corruption charges against the earlier chief minister B S Yediyurappa and his ministers. The political situation was very volatile and the then government was too busy fighting for its daily survival. People had completely lost faith in Yediyurappa’s governance. In stark contrast to that, after D V Sadananda Gowda took charge, the government has been functioning very smoothly. This has happened because D V Sadananda Gowda is not only an able administrator, but also he is clean, transparent, honest and dedicated to his duties of office.

But many corrupt politicians do not want him to succeed and they are doing their best to overthrow him and destabilize his government. He is a becoming a victim of political conspiracy basically because he is not allowing the present leaders and politicians to loot the economy. Karnataka state will lose an honest leader whom we can all trust. He has proved to be clean, non-corrupt and scam-free so far. Karnataka has got an honest chief minister after a very long time. If we, the people of Karnataka do not support him today we will lose him and we will lose our future as well. The state has to prosper, hence we should support him and ensure that he serves his full term without any external interference or pressure.

After being appointed as the chief minister eleven months ago he has not been allowed to perform peacefully. In a democracy, people’s support is the best weapon to silence critics, opponents and corrupt politicians. Only people’s power can strengthen his hands and empower him to overcome the political challenges. Hence, we the people of Karnataka should support him so that his hands are strengthened to work for us and create a bright future for Karnataka.

D V Sadananda Gowda hails from Dakshina Kannada and had made the people of Coastal Karnataka proud by giving an able and honest administration. Now, in his hour of need, we should stand by him and support him cutting across our personal party affiliations for the good of the state.

If you agree with this please send your message of support to His Excellency Dr.Hans Raj Bhardwaj Governor of Karnataka saying ‘We want D V Sadananda Gowda to continue as the chief minister of Karnataka’ to his e-mail rajbhavan.karnataka@gmail.com or to the chief minister’s office: chiefminister@karnataka.gov.in."

We all know that Mr. BSY was ousted on corruption charges. Now on what grounds is Mr. DVS is being replaced by Mr. J. Shettar? There's no doubt this replacement is at the behest of BSY as all his attempts to get himself reinstated failed. And he knows very well that he will not win the next election. This is nothing but mockery of democracy which the wise people of Karnataka should not tolerate and wholeheartedly support the Mangalore Jaago Association in its endeavour to retain our present CM, Mr.DVS until he completes his term.

Though BJP claims to replace UPA in next election, yet its infighting is pushing it on some suicidal path including party's decision to replace Karnataka' CM Mr. DV Sadanand Gowda by someone in pressure of .... ( now it is christal clear..who is behind this ...act ). This pressure looks like some terrorist-attack on the party. BJP must not negotiate such events only for the " Chair ".
Also typical condition of open quarrel between Gujrat's CM Mr. Narendra Modi and party's worker Mr. Joshi has ridiculed the status of the party and its big boosses.
Hope to give nation a good and strong opposition BJP willn't yield before any pressure. Jaihind
