Kasargod: Investigations into Fake Passport Racket to be Extended to Other Districts

Daijiworld Media Network - Kasargod (RD)

Kasargod, Jul 12: The authorities will extend the investigations related to fake passports to the districts of Kannur, Kozhikode, and Malappuram. The investigations have proved that a few travel agents in Kanhangad are involved in the fake passport racket in connivance with travel agents of neighbouring districts and a few policemen.

The fake passports are in the possession of terrorists and operators involved in Indian fake currency notes. Nearly 200 fake passports have been issued with false addresses of Kanhangad with the help of a few brokers and the local police. Many of the fake passport holders have fled the country and are wanted by Interpol for various crimes. Most of them are involved in fake currency racket, drug trafficking, and terrorist activities.
