Steven Tyler Quits 'American Idol'

London, Jul 13 (IANS): "Aerosmith" rocker Steven Tyler has confirmed that he is leaving "American Idol" to concentrate on his band.

The Aerosmith singer has been a judge for the past two series on the talent show, alongside Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson, but he has ruled out returning for the 12th season.

"After some long... hard... thoughts... I've decided it's time for me to let go of my mistress 'American Idol' before she boils my rabbit," femalefirst.co.uk quoted Tyler as saying.

"I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I'm back - but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I've got two fists in the air and I'm kicking the door open with my band," he added.
