Mangalore: Illegal Liquor Seized, One Arrested

Mangalore, Jul 14:
The officials of the excise department arrested one person while transporting illegal liquor worth Rs 30,000 here at the Surathkal Railway station on Friday July 13 morning.

The arrested has been identified as Umesh, resident of Kasargod and another alleged, Premjeeth, has absconded.

Nine bags of illegal liquor was being transported to Kerala. Acting on a tip off, the officials conducted the raid.

The illegal liquor consisting of 2250 sachets of 90 ml of liquor and brandy has been confiscated and the inquiry is on.

A team consisting of U Hoovappa Gowda, assistant commissioner, excise department, Vijaykumar, excise superintendent, M Shivananda Gatty were part of the raid.
