Cameron Moves to Dismiss 'Avatar' Lawsuit

Los Angeles, Jul 17 (IANS): Filmmaker James Cameron has asked a judge to dismiss a $2.5 billion lawsuit against "Avatar", filed by a screenwriter, who alleged that it shares key plot details with his work.

Sci-fi screenwriter Bryant Moore filed suit against Cameron late last year, claiming the moviemaker based his highly-successful film on his scripts for two projects called "Aquatica" and "Descendants: The Pollination". Moore is demanding billions of dollars in damages, reports tmz.com.

Cameron has now filed his own legal documents in a bid to have the case thrown out, insisting "Avatar" plot and characters are completely different to Moore's projects.
