Mangalore: Vittal Denied Admission to Next Sem, Asked to Rewrite Exams

Mangalore, Jul 17: Vittal Malekudiya, journalism student has been denied admission to the next semester by the University instead asked him to re-appear for exams.

Recently Vittal had sent a written appeal to University seeking admission for third semester, but now University has turned back and asked him to re-write his second semester exams.

In a letter, Waheed Sultana, chair person of the mass communication and journalism department said, Mangalore University has denied admission for Vittal for having spent more than four months in prison, which resulted in attendance shortage. As per the rule one cannot appear for the exams if he has shortage and thus denied admission to him.

Vittal was allowed to write the exam with the joint permission from court and university. But, now University is being biased with this Dalit boy who resulted in losing a year said, Muneer Katipalla, president of DYFI.

In this regard, DYFI, SFI and Vittal family welfare committee in Bangalore will hold a protest in front of University on Tuesday, July 24 to seek justice.

    It is sad to note that because of useless police, this boy has to lose one year. I will not be surprised if he becomes a naxalite in the future if not earlier.

    It appears that Prakash Karat has to come to Mangalore once again to make Vittal to get adminssion to next semister of educational course being perceived.
