Mumbai: Billawar Association Convenes 80th Annual General Body Meeting

Mumbai, Jul 23: The 80th annual general body meeting of Billawar Association was held under the chairmanship of Jaya C Suvarna at Billawar Bhavan Narayan Guru auditorium, Santa Cruz (East), on Sunday July 22.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Association that was founded by the community’s veterans 80 years ago has grown globally with genuine concern for uplifting the poor and bringing overall prosperity.  The success of the Association lies in the ideologies of Brahmasri Guru Narayan. 

Former Karnataka minister Vasant Salian was the chief guest on the occasion.

He said that the backing of the community’s veteran and former union minister is significant to the growth of the Association as social and political leadership is essential for any Association to succeed.

Billawar Association honorary president Y Nagesh, vice-presidents L V Amin, M B Kukyan, Nityanand D Kotian and C T Salian, honorary chief secretary Jyoti K Suvarna, honorary joint secretaries Mohandas G Poojary and Dhananjay S Kotian, honorary joint secretaries Ganesh M Billav, Mahesh Karkal, Dharmapal G Anchan and Rajesh J Bangera, Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited chairman Vasudev R Kotian, Billawar Association women’s wing president Jayanti V Ullal, Seva Dal commandant Ganesh K Poojary, education committee president Bhaskar M Salian, Gangadhar J Poojary, Mohan G Poojary, Premanath P Kotian, Baby S Kukyan, Sadashiv A Karkera, Ravindra A Amin, Anantaram S Sanil, J V Kotian, Shankar D Poojary, and Vasanti Saliankar were present on the dais.

G M Kotian, K Ramachandra, Shankar K Suvarna, Dr Priyanka Suvarna, K P Suvarna, M N Sanil, lawyer Rohini J Salian, Varada Ullal, lawyer Sasidar Kaup, K M Mabian, Surendra A Poojary, Harish G Amin, Jayanti Kotian, M V Kukyan, honorary editor, Association’s monthly bulletin ‘Akshaya’ , Bharat Bank CEO Chandrashekar R Mulky, Ashwajit Hejmady, Ravikant Amin, and Umesh Karkera were also present.

The Association’s honorary chief secretary Jyoti K Suvarna welcomed the gathering.  Honorary joint secretary Dr Dhananjay S Kotian presented the annual report and proposed the vote of thanks.  Honorary chief treasurer Uday S Salian presented the annual accounts.

    I am in contact with Billawar Association Mumbai Since my Father in Law and then Founder member of Bharat Bank, Mr.M.S Kotian, Fort, Mumbai. I appreciate the legacy carried on by Mr.Jaya C Suvarna and wish him all the best for continue to be part of Association and Bharat Bank.

    Congratulation to the President for the successful conduction of the 80th Annual General Body Meeting of the Billawar Association,Mumbai on 22.7.2012.
    I am happy to see the presence of the dignitaries who were honored, who spoke and also those who were attending the General Body held in the BILLAWA BHAVAN.
    Probably it is the First time since 1973 that I am constrained to miss the opportunity to attend the General Body as I had to be away from Mumbai from 22.6.2012 till 22.10.2012 ( My second visit to USA). However, I was happy to read the news and see some of the projected photographs of the function through this media.
    Wishing you every successs in your future venture too. Let the blessings of Guru Narayana be always pouring on us so as to enable to render yeoman service to the humaniterion cause through our great organisation " BILLAWAR ASSOCIATION MUMBAI"
