Russia Condemns Iraq Violence

Moscow, Jul 24 (IANS): Russia has condemned the latest terrorist attacks in Iraq that left at least 80 people as killed, Xinhua reported.

"Moscow strongly condemns these bloody crimes, expresses condolence to the victims' families, wishes sooner recovery of the wounded ones," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its website.

"New tragic events on the Iraqi soil once again stressed the need to constantly counter terrorism which could not have any justifications."

Russia supported the efforts of the Iraqi government to stabilise the situation and enhance security in the country, said the statement, urging all Iraqis to close ranks and fight against terrorism.

A series of attacks across Iraq Monday killed at least 80 people and wounded some 282 others on the deadliest day in two years.
