Mangalore, Jul 25: H Vasant Bernard, former president of Haleangady gram panchayat, was unanimously elected as president of Lions Club of Haleangady for a one-year term.

He serves as director of P C A Bank and president of Haleangady gram panchayat.

Mohan Suvarna, Bhaskar Salian, and Jayanand Suvarna (vice-presidents), Jagdish Bala (secretary), Yashodar Salian (treasurer), Goutam Jain (joint secretary), Srinivas Amin (joint treasurer), Chandrashekar Nanil, P Shankar, Mirza Ahmed, Umesh Poojary, Chandrashekar, Jaikrishna Kotian, Naveen Shetty and Ramesh Suvarna (directors), and membership committee president Madhusudan N Anchan, are the other office-bearers.
