‘Int'l Man of the Year Award’ for Walter D’Souza Kalmady, Dharmapal Devadiga

Mumbai, Jul 26: “Thai Kannada Balaga, Bangkok–Thailand will honour Dharmapal U Devadiga, former president of metro-based Devadiga Sangh and social activist Walter D’Souza Kalmady (Jerimeri) with the International Man of the Year Award’ during the 7th International Cultural Convention scheduled to be held at Howard Square Programme Auditorium, Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday August 4,” stated Vincent Pinto, president, Thai Kannada Balaga, Bangkok, Thailand.
“The convention will be held under the aegis of International Cultural Committee, Thai Indo Community, and Thai Kannadigas. Indian traditional cultural splendour, folk art, poets’ session, seminars, and dance shows will be held during the seventh convention,” stated the convention chairman Manjunath Sangar and honorary president Suresh Shetty Bellary.
Walter D’Souza Kalmady:
Walter hails from Kalmady in Udupi district and has been employed in the metro since the past three decades. He is serving as president of Maharashtra Konkan Association ®, joint secretary of Konkani Basha Mandal–Maharashtra, Kurla regional president of Janketan (NGO), sub-editor of a Hindi weekly published from Kurla (West), vice-president of district human rights committee, and active in other social welfare organizations.
Dharmapal U Devadiga:
He is chairman of the metro-based Satyanarayan Industrial Suppliers Private Limited, former president of Devadiga Sangh, vice-president of Jayasrikrishna Parisara Premi Samiti (NGO), vice-president of Mumbai committee of Nityanand Kshetra, Kondevoor, Uppala in Kasargod.
