Traffic Jam Causes Child's Death in Pakistan

Islamabad, Jul 27 (IANS): A child stuck in a massive traffic jam, following protests over frequent power outages, died due to the searing heat in Pakistan's northwest, a media report said.

The three-year-old child died due to the heat and resultant suffocation after passengers were stuck for hours as protesters blocked the main G.T. Road in Swat Thursday.

Dawn reported that the road was blocked for over six hours, causing queues of hundreds of vehicles on both sides of the road.
