Mumbai, Jul 28: L V Amin was unanimously elected new president of metro-based Billawar Association, during the extraordinary general body meeting held at Billawar Bhavan, Santa Cruz (East), on Thursday July 26, for a three-year term. Amin had been the vice-president so far. Outgoing president Jaya Suvarna presided over the meeting.
Jaya Suvarna was unanimously elected as lifetime honorary president during the 80th annual general body meeting held on Sunday July 22.
The other office-bearers are Nityanand D Kotian, C T Salian, Chandrashekar S Poojary, and Bhaskar M Salian (vice-presidents), Jyoti K Suvarna (honorary chief secretary), Bhaskar V Bangera (honorary chief treasurer), Shankar D Poojary, Dhananjay S Kotian, Mahesh Karkal and Harish G Salian (honorary joint secretaries), L R Anchan, Rajesh J Bangera, Dharmapal G Anchan and Jayanti V Ullal (honorary joint treasurers), Mohandas G Poojary, Gangadhar J Poojary, Bannanje Ravindra Amin, Baby S Kukyan, Srimanti S Poojary, Shakuntala K Kotian, Chandrakala R Suvarna, Prema D Kotian, Premanat P Kotian, Ravindra A Amin, M Anand Poojary, Raja V Salian, Suryakant Jaya Suvarna, Umesh D Kotian, Sadashiv A Karkera, Y Nagesh, M B Kukyan, and Vasudev R Kotian (executive committee members), lawyer Dr U Dhananjay Kumar and Seva Dal commandant Ganesh K Poojary (co-opted members).
Women’s Wing:
Shakuntala K Kotian was elected as president and Chandrakala R Suvarna as honorary secretary of women’s wing.
The Association’s honorary president Y Nagesh, vice-presidents M B Kukyan and C T Salian, newly-elected president L V Amin, honorary chief secretary Jyoti K Suvarna, honorary joint streasurer Dharmapal G Anchan, and women’s wing executive president Jayanti V Ullal were present on the dais.
