Kundapur, Aug 3: Karnataka Prantha Krishi Koolikara Sangha (KPKKS), Kundapur unit along with the committee for the shelter- less held a procession and fought for the rights of the shelter- less in front of the Town Municipal office here on Thursday August 2 morning.
 
In Kundapur town limits, poor people cannot afford houses, as the rent for small house ranges from Rs 2000 to Rs 3000. People who earn on a daily wages face serious problems as they find it difficult to look after expenses like food, house rent, medicine, education which are on always increasing.

 
In this regard an appeal along with applications from shelter- less people was submitted to Shivanand, Town Municipal Kundapur demanding government aided houses to the needy.
 
The protest was flagged off by G A Sriram, CPI secretary. He said that the state government should sort out this problem and the annual support provided to the needy should be increased by Rs 2 lac. Municipality should accept all the 1323 applications submitted and soon land should be sorted out, he said.

Muneer Kaatipalla, V Narasimha, past municipal president, Kalavathi, GunaRatna, past municipal president, K Shankar, Mahabala Vaderahoballi, Suresh, Venkatesh Koni, Rajeeva Padukone, Rajesh Hoballi, Suresh Kallagara, Venkatesh Koni, Sudhakar Kanchan, Dasa Bhandary, Dogu, state president of Krishi Koolikara Sangha among others were present.
 
H Narasimha welcomed and Ashwath Kumar proposed the vote of thanks.
