Mangalore, Aug 4: Thieves looted an offering box from the Hosakaveri Mahamayye Temple situated near Kinnigoli on Saturday August 4.
The temple was recently renovated. It is suspected that the theft took place late at night and came to light in the morning.
It is said that the thieves forcibly broke open the door and escaped with the offering box that had nearly Rs 20000 to Rs 30000. Later they threw the box to a gutter nearby and fled from the place, as per the complaint registered by Damodhar in the Mulky police station.
Canine squad and finger print experts, along with police officers inspected the temple. Investigations are on.
