Mangalore, Aug 5: 'Madhyama Vedike', a forum for journalism students of Mangalore University, conducted a talk on the recent home stay attack at its premises on Sunday August 5.

Naveen Shetty Soorinje, reporter of 'Kasturi 24x7' Kannada news channel, and Sudipto Mondal, senior reporter of 'The Hindu' English daily were the resource persons.

Addressing the students, Naveen said, "For students, apart from mastering the language and skills, it is equally important to conduct themselves according to journalistic ethics. We are there at the spot of the incident to report and not to support, therefore, the news item has to be unbiased and fair."

After the session, the students gave their feedback and opinion.

Principal H S Lakshmi Narayan Bhat and HOD of journalism Prof Sathya Narayan Malli Patna also spoke during the session.

Amulya compered, Shivaranjani welcomed and Umar Farooq thanked the gathering of students and journalists. Anush escorted the dignitaries to the dais.
