Udupi, Aug 7: Catholic Shree Sanghatan Holy Family church unit celebrated Grandparents day recently on the occasion of St Anna and St Jokim’s Feast.

Fr Antony Vaz, parish priest, Holy Family church, inaugurated the function. During his inaugural talk he mentioned that elderly people do not have much work outside the house, so they have to spend more time in prayers for the family. When necessary they should advice children from doing the things the wrong way. Children in turn should understand the emotions of their parents.

Fr Antony Vaz, Leo Rodrigues - vice president of parish pastoral council, Janet D’souza - secretary, Leena Roche – president Udupi Diocese Shree Sanghatan, Hilda Rodrigues – professor Milagres College Kallianpur, Anitha Fernandes – president Shree Sanghatan Brahmavar and Flora Almeida – secretary of the unit were present on the dais.

A cultural programme was arranged by the unit members on the occasion.

Anitha Fernandes welcomed the gathering; Flora Almeida delivered the vote of thanks, Lydwin and Juliet compeered the programme.
