Udupi, Aug 8: Swami Vishwavallabateerta of Sodhe Mutt presented Sarpangala Subramanya Bhat memorial Award, to veteran Yakshagana musician Padyana Shankaranarayan Bhat, during a function held at Rajangann, Sri Krishna mutt, here on Tuesday August 7.
The award comprised Rs 5,000 cash, a citation letter and a memento.
Yakshagana Kalaranga president Tallur Shivaram Shetty, eye surgeon Narendra Shenoy and others were present.
Eye surgeon Dr Shailaja S welcomed the gathering. Jaideep S proposed the vote of thanks.
Narayan M Hegde read the citation. The programme was compered by Murali Kadekar.
'Maharshi Valmiki' Yakshagana was also staged by the artistes of famed Tenkutittu style during the occasion.
