Mangalore, Aug 9: Mahatma Gandhi Shanthi Souharda Vedike will organize a seminar on ‘Moral policing and Indian Culture’ in connection with the recent home stay attack, said Ravishankar Shetty, founder president at press club here on Thursday August 9.
The seminar will be held at Balmatta Sahodhaya Hall on August 11 at 10 am where discussions will be held with the public by Ravivarma Kumar, legal consultant from Supreme Court, BT Lalitha Nayak, renowned poet and by various others.
Addressing the press, Ravishankar Shetty said that the organization has been conducting various programmes for many years but it is crucial to hold discussions on the present practices.
Since 2006, communal fights, church attacks, pub attacks and the recent resort attack have created havoc in the city. Hence it is important to stop all these violent practices by collectively working together, he said.
He said that the Mahatma Gandhi Vedike is not against any organization instead condemns those organizations that indulges in immoral activities.
Suresh Ballal, president of Dakshinna Kannada district, Vishwas Kumar Das, president of Mangalore, PV Mohan, Mithun Rai among others were present.
