Kundapur, Aug 11: “Folk art is an integral part of human beings. It does not belong to one individual; instead it is the asset of society. The folk art is prominent during annual day celebrations and auspicious occasion. It will help to develop the skills of folklore.

One cannot think of a life without folklore. If that happens, it is a tragedy like an uprooted tree,” said Uppunda Chandrashekar Holla, president of district Karnataka Janapad Parishat, after felicitating the folk artiste Uppunda Manjunat Devadiga, during the concluding function of Uppunda Mahila Sneha Sammilan, here on Thursday August 9.

“In this era of globalization and stiff competitions, one does not focus on the need to introspect on the fruitfulness of living on earth. The traditional values are essential for harmonious living in families,” added Uppunda Chandrashekar Holla.

The taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat secretary U Sandesh Bhat and Byndoor regional president Dr Subramanya Bhat were the chief guests of the occasion.
Mahila Vividhoddesha Sahakari Sangh vice president Veena Shanbagh was present at dais.

Karnataka Janapad Parishat district secretary U Ganesh Prasanna Mayya welcomed the gathering.  Savitra Upadhyaya proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Jyoti S Mayya.
