Senior congress leader of Puttur, Mohammed Hatta (67) died of cardiac arrest on Saturday August 1, here.

Mohammed Hatta, resident of Puttur-Darbe, served as a member of zilla parishat representing the constituency of Mudnoor, Nettani, Puttur taluk. He was the president of zilla parishad industrial standing committee, member of zilla land tribunal, president of Puttur urban development authority, chief secretary of Puttur block congress and was also a member of DK district congress committee.

Presently, he was serving as the vice president of Muslim Samyuktha Jammath. He served as secretary for over 10 years. He also rendered services as secretary of Puttur Seerath committee, and was the office bearer of Jamath Falah, Crescent Young men’s Assocaiton and many other spiritual and social organizations. 

On Saturday afternoon he was hospitalized after suffering cardiac arrest. However, he breathed his last. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Many congress leaders paid condolence to the bereaved soul and consoled the family.

Vinay Kumar Sorake, MLA UT Khader, congress spokesperson Farooq Ullal, Puttur block congress president Hemanath Shetty and other religious leaders paid condolences.
