Kuwait, Aug 13: Karnataka Muslim Welfare Association (KMWA) Kuwait, an affiliate of IMA-Kuwait conducted an Iftar party for the Indian expatriates hailing from Karnataka State in Kuwait at Rajadhani Palace Banquet in Khaitan on Wednesday August 8.
The program started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Qazi Mohammed Owais.
Guest visitor of Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Kuwait, Mohammad Abdullah Javed, president - JIH Karnataka addressed the gathering followed by a question and answer session. Javed in his keynote address elaborated the social, financial and political challenges of Muslims in Karnataka state and urged the audience to remain concerned and respond to their needs.
KMWA president Hasan Yusuf in his opening address welcomed the gathering and briefed about KMWA activities. He said that KMWA has been arranging such get-togethers from time to time to maintain the gesture of goodwill and unity among NRI's of Karnataka in Kuwait.
B S Sharafuddin convened the program and introduced the chief guest to the audience. Jameel Ahmed, general secretary of KMWA proposed the vote of thanks.
The get-together provided a friendly atmosphere for the Karnataka state expatriates living in Kuwait. Community members from various parts of Karnataka participated and appreciated the function.
Dinner was served at the end of the programme.
