Mangalore, Aug 14: The finale of the third project of Classes 1 to 5 for the Independence day of India - with the theme “Maa Thu Meri Jaan” (Mother, you are my Life) was held on August 14 at 10.00 am in the LCS Auditorium. Ziyan of Class IV compered the programme.
Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, the principal, escorted the chief guest, Dr Victor Machado, manager, and LCS to the dais. The programme began by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer song. Aarati of class III A welcomed the gathering. Dr Victor Machado, having thrown a few questions to the Lourdites, stressed to love Mother India as their own mother and congratulated all those who participated in the various competitions that were held on the occasion of the Independence Day.
He also felicitated the winners by honouring them with certificates and prizes. Every student from Classes 1 to 5 received a participation badge of the Indian Flag.
The principal addressing the gathering spoke highly about the greatness and the rich heritage of Mother India. The power point report on the project was read by Adora of Class III B and displayed by Mary D’Souza.
Then followed the patriotic song trained by Joel Pereira and a finale dance by the enthusiastic Lourdites of Class I and II choreographed by Mahesh.
The vote of thanks was proposed in a unique way displaying the characters of the freedom movement by Alka, Stacia, Sneha, Alden, Adithya Shah, Abhay Shah of Class III.
The finale came to an end with a PowerPoint of the National Anthem by the impaired children followed by vocals sung by the renowned singers of India.
