Mumbai: St Xavier’s High School Celebrates Independence Day

Mumbai, Aug 17: An Independence Day programme was held at 8:00am on August 15 , to mark the 66th Independence Day at the St Xavier’s High School, Borivli .

The programme began with the guard of honour followed by the Word of God, Bible reading and its explanation.

Alpa Doshi, Roopa Padnakar, Amrutbhai  Shah, Dr Daniel Vergese, Riddhi Vyas, Asta Pandey and Dr Shrikant Badwe were the guests who attended to bless the occasion.

Prayer songs were sung to seek the blessings of the Lord. The chief guest Amrutbhai Shah unfurled the Indian tricolour Flag with full respect. Multi lingual speeches were given by the secondary students. Love for the Mother Land was expressed through Patriotic songs by all students.

A minutes silence was observed in the memory of late Vilasrao Deshmukh.

The celebration concluded with a school anthem as a mark of respect to the abode of learning.

The guests and the parents present at the function highly appreciated the efforts of Chairman Dr Augustine Francis Pinto, managing director Grace Pinto, the management, headmistress, supervisors, staff and students for organizing such a wonderful and meaningful event for the young generation.
