Bangalore: Archbishop Dr Bernard Moras Greets Muslim Community on Eid-ul-Fitr

Media Release

Bangalore, Aug 18: Archbishop Dr Bernard Moras on Saturday August 18, through a media release, conveyed his Eid greetings to the Muslim community.

The release states:

"Archbishop Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore along with his fellow Bishops and leaders of all the other Christian churches and denominations in the Karnataka United Christian Forum for Human Rights sends, on behalf of the whole Christian community in Karnataka, cordial and fraternal greetings to Muslim brothers and sisters as they celebrate Id-ul-Fitr at the end of the Ramadan month.

This past month has been for them a sacred time of purification from evil through fasting, of coming closer to God through reading and meditating on His word in the Qu’ran, and of coming closer to one another through zakat (charity) and the iftar meal.

All of us, followers of all religions, are called to similar purification and to closeness to God and to one another. May we all on this holy occasion experience this closeness and strengthen the bonds of friendship that bind our different communities together into a single family of Indians."
