Mangalore, Aug 18: Western Union Money Transfer Service Scheme is a quick and easy way to receive personal remittances from abroad. As a result of the collaboration of the Department of post, Government of India with Western Union Company, international money transfer is now available through the post offices.

India Post has a strong rural penetration and it is very convenient for the public to receive Western Union transfers as it if offered in 464 nominated post offices spread across urban and rural parts of Karnataka. Recently Reserve Bank of India has relaxed individual transaction limit from 12 to 30 transactions for a calendar year.

During the forthcoming festivals like Ramzan, Deepawali and Christmas, India Post is expecting a huge amount of remittance to take place.

All Post Offices are equipped to serve customers and in a few selected post offices special counters are placed so that customers can receive their money at a convenience. Customers need not pay any fee to receive money in India.

In Mangalore, International Money Transfer services are provided in 22 offices  in collaboration with India Post, Mangalore H O (Pandeshwar), Kulshekar, Bejai, Kankanady, Bejai, Kankanady, Kodialbail, Panambur, Farangipet, Ullal, Ashoknagar, Bajpe, Haleangady, Katipalla, Mulki, Srinivasnagar, Derlakatte, Balmatta, Baikampady, Hampankatta, Kinnigoli, Mundkur, Surathkal and Permannur.
