Kazakh Beer Thief Returns Unfinished Bottles

Moscow, Aug 21 (IANS/RIA Novosti): A man suspected of stealing a case of beer from a store in Kazakhstan's northwest Aktobe region still faces theft charges despite returning a number of bottles he decided not to drink, police told CA-NEWS.

The store owner told police that a man entered the store at about two o'clock in the morning Aug 18, and ran out with the box which had 14-odd bottles of beer. After some time, he returned with six unopened bottles, left them in the store and disappeared again.

On Monday, police arrested a 27-year-old resident of an adjacent apartment building on suspicion of stealing the beer. The suspect has a prior conviction for theft.
