Sullia, Aug 23 : Janaki Venkatramana Gowda, wife of Dr Kurunji Janaki Venkatramana Gowda of Sullia Academy of Liberal Education, passed away at her residence on Wednesday August 22.

Janaki Gowda, who was the director of the Kurunji Education Institutions, supported her husband in the progress and development of the institutions.

She was popular in and around Sullia and was actively involved in associations and women's organisations.

Thousands of people rushed to her residence after hearing the news of her demise. Top political and social leaders have condoled her death.

The funeral rites will be held on Thursday August 23.
