ESPN Signs Kevin Pietersen for World T20

New Delhi, Aug 24 (IBNS): ESPN STAR Sports (ESS), Asia’s leading sports’ broadcaster, on Friday announced that former England captain Kevin Pietersen will be a part of its presentation and analysis team for ICC World Twenty20 to be played in Sri Lanka.

In addition, Pietersen will also play an important role in the publicity and promotion of ESS’s broadcast of ICC World Twenty20.

Pietersen has had an extremely successful cricket career and this will be the first time that he will feature on live broadcast as an analyst.

Known for his various match winning and defining innings across different formats of the game, Pietersen was named player of the tournament at the last edition of ICC World Twenty20 tournament held in West Indies in 2010.

This places him as one of the most suitable persons to give insightful perspective on this iconic T20 tournament, a format in which he has excelled as a player, thus further enhancing coverage of the ICC World Twenty20 for passionate cricket fans.

Announcing the induction of Pietersen, Peter Hutton, Managing Director, ESPN STAR Sports, said, "We're delighted that one of the world games biggest names is part of our team, and look forward to hearing the insights of someone who knows the format and knows the current stars inside out."

Pietersen, who played for Delhi Daredevils earlier this year where his performance gave a huge boost to their campaign, enjoys a very strong following and support amongst the fans from the subcontinent.

Speaking on the occasion, Pietersen, said, "I am very excited about working with ESPN STAR Sports covering the ICC World Twenty20 watching England defend their title."
